Webinars for 10th Anniversary of the UNESCO Recommendation on Historic Urban Landscape (HUL)

To mark the 10th anniversary of the UNESCO Recommendation on Historic Urban Landscape (HUL), adopted on 10th November 2011 by UNESCO General Conference, UNESCO-New Delhi and National Institute of Urban Affairs, in cooperation with Metropolis, and Centre for Heritage Conservation-CEPT Research and Development Foundation, are jointly organising a special edition of webinars focussing on the Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) approach.

The UNESCO Recommendation on HUL addresses the need to better integrate and frame urban heritage conservation strategies within the larger goals of overall sustainable development, in order to support public and private actions aimed at preserving and enhancing the quality of the human environment. The webinars will showcase some of the international best practices of adoption of HUL approach and a few other examples of urban heritage management from South Asia, along with discussion sessions on the opportunities and challenges cities face while implementing the HUL approach or conserving their urban heritage.
